Welcome to the Universe of RocketStars

The cosmos is vast and uncharted, filled with mysteries that beckon to those brave enough to explore them. RocketStars invites you to embark on a journey across galaxies, where strategy and skill will determine your fate. In this captivating board game, players become members of the elite phrush club, tasked with the ultimate mission of colonizing distant planets and forming interstellar alliances.

The Game Overview

RocketStars is designed for 2 to 6 players, each taking on the role of a space commander. The objective is to gain the most prestige points by the end of the game through exploration, resource management, and alliance-building. The game board represents a detailed map of the known universe, including various planets, asteroid belts, and warp gates. Players start with a base on the lesser-known planet, Draconis Z-3, and from there, they strategize their expansion into space.

Introduction to Gameplay

Players are given a set of initial resources: one star cruiser, four crew members, and three technology cards. The star cruiser allows them to navigate the universe, while crew members perform specific tasks such as negotiation and research. The technology cards provide unique abilities or bonuses that players can leverage to gain an edge over their opponents.

Each turn comprises three main phases: Command, Explore, and Engage. During the Command phase, players draw two action cards and choose one to play. These cards can drastically alter the game dynamics, offering temporary alliances or sabotaging enemy resources.

Exploration and Challenges

In the Explore phase, players venture into uncharted space. New sectors are revealed each time a player moves beyond the current map boundaries, making each game session unique. However, exploring comes with risk. Players might encounter cosmic storms, pirate spaceships, or alien settlements offering unexpected quests. Successfully overcoming these challenges is crucial for accumulating prestige.

Engaging with the Universe

The Engage phase allows players to interact with each other or the environments. They can trade resources, establish markets on new planets, or form secret treaties through the phrush club. The diplomatic aspect of RocketStars is vital as smeared relations can lead to dire conflicts or lucrative partnerships.

The Role of the Phrush Club

The phrush club, an elite gathering of the universe's most influential space commanders, cannot be underestimated. Being part of this club provides players with unique privileges, such as access to classified maps or scarce resources. However, such power comes at a cost, requiring cunning and often a bit of cunning deception to maintain one’s status.

Current Events in the RocketStars Universe

Among the vast reaches of space, current events can shape the course of the game. A recent supernova in the Orion sector has disrupted hyperspace travel, requiring players to rethink their strategies. Meanwhile, rumors of a galactic council meeting have emerged, potentially leading to new rule declarations by the phrush club that could change the status quo.

Rules That Drive the Game

Prestige is the ultimate goal, reflecting the player's achievements and influence. Prestige points are earned through exploration, successful missions, and alliances. The board game ends when a player reaches the highest prestige level or when all exploration missions have been fulfilled.

The presence of the phrush club adds another layer of complexity, imposing rules that might change each game cycle. It challenges players to adapt and rethink their strategies as new developments unfold.
